Men’s Rowing

Hi all! Matt here, captain of men’s rowing at Keble. Don’t let a few early mornings put you off- rowing at Keble is something very special.

We have a diverse social culture, and whether it’s a black-tie formal with the women’s side, or a crewdate with LMH netball team, there’s opportunity to mix with people near and far. Chances are the people you row with will be some of the best people you meet at Oxford.

It isn’t all about socials though, there’s glory too, and at Keble we’re good. We attract world-class athletes to the club- one of our coaches won gold with Steve Redgrave. High standards of funding, equipment and coaching have taken complete novices at Keble to very high standards- this year Keble’s Jon Olandi made a place in the reserve team for the boat race, having learnt to row with us last year. This year, Keble also won headship in the Oxford’s biggest racing event, Summer VIII’s, for the first time since 1977. I’m keen on having another season for the history books, if you’re interested in being involved, don’t hesitate to get in touch!
