On Saturday 10th October Keble will be hosting it’s first Bop of the year: Cockney Rhyming Slang. So whether you’re coming as a “dog and bone” or “Lady Godiva” grab a china plate and get down to the bar at 9pm and we’ll have a kitchen sink or two, then a good old kick and prance.
If you have no idea what we’re talking about, have a look at these for inspiration:
There are alumni events in college on Saturday so it’s important that everyone brings their BODCARD to the BOP so that security can keep track of who is there.
At the helm of the DJ decks will be the musically questionable but undoubtedly entertaining combination of DJ Surrey and 50 $hed (Jonathan Mitchell and Matthew Jamshed) and we’ll see the return of Dominic Parr and our resident DJ Robert Goode, giving the people what they want!
As usual we shall be providing free tokens for alcoholic and non-alcoholic bevs for people in costume, provided on a first-come-first-served basis from 9pm!
So whether you’re a homesick Cockney fresher or 3rd year in need of cultural acclimatisation ahead of starting your grad job in the city – get down to the bar on Saturday!
Love Entz xox
*Note for new students* although you may get your hands on a free drinks token, in order to buy drinks at the Keble bar you can either bring money (which can be a pain in costume) or you can go to meals.keble.ox.ac.uk then click >epos>top-up card and you can put money on your bod card which can then be used to pay at the bar.
